Let's talk about our first baby... aka fur baby!
I know everyone says they have the best dog, because obviously they're our babies. When I tell you Tucker is the best dog, I'm not joking. We have plenty of people who would back us up on that - they fight over watching him, he always gets the most attention when anyone is around, and when normally dogs aren't allowed places Tucker is the exception! This mini golden doodle doesn't shed, doesn't bark, knows tricks, doesn't need a leash, sleeps in and goes with the flow... I mean it doesn't get much better than that. He's been Kyle's best friend longer than I, but I quickly became Mama when I came into the picture. He is our first baby, our fur baby, and we love him more than anything!
We always knew he'd be a good big brother. He'd cuddle my belly when I was pregnant. Knowing he was already as good and well behaved as he was we just had a feeling he'd be great!
About a week before we had Brooklyn, Tucker had a pretty traumatic accident. He was going for a car ride with Mom, one of his favorite activities, and slipped while getting into the car. Mom didn't notice because didn't yelp or act like anything was wrong... we made it to our Target pick up and back and when I went to get him out of the car he was covered in blood and my back seat looked like a dang murder scene! I rushed in the house to get Kyle, we called the emergency vet (holiday weekend, great) and rushed him in. All four paws were covered in blood, but it turns out just one of his nails had been torn completely out (insert severe Mom guilt here). We joked he wanted to either remind us who the first baby was and needed attention knowing the baby was coming, or was prepping us for how to handle emergency situations.
Fast forward to bringing her home; he glared at Mom, gave me the side eye, turned his back to me... I mean I couldn't imagine this is how our good boy would act, it broke my Mama heart! It took him a couple of days but he eventually came back around after we made sure to give him plenty of attention when we could (a new baby takes a lot of time and attention). He had a spa day about a week after we got home while his paw was still healing and we think that irritated him to the point he was licking his wound again and it eventually got infected. Took him in again and got some meds. Then a couple of weeks after we had brought her home she was peacefully sleeping during the night and all of a sudden Tucker came up to sleep next to me and had a seizure... it was one of the scariest moments of our life. We got him calmed down and again called the emergency vet... nothing they could do. He then had another one four hours later... now we're panicked. Called our vet and got him on some meds and calmed down. We never did find out what exactly caused it.... but we think it was the stress of his injury, the new baby and his lack of sleep and changed schedule, and just overall stress. Again insert mama guilt. Our poor baby :(
Tucker is doing much better now. He takes naps when we nap, his infection and paw is on the mend and doing so much better. He gets attention when we can, and when visitors come he still gets to be the center of attention. They always warn you about the effect a new baby has on pets, but we never once thought Tucker would take it like that. Love on those fur babies, especially when bringing home the new babies!

Some of my favorite pictures and memories are of Baylor being a baby and Miley. She was also the best dog! 😉 cherish the moments with them both, those sweet puppies don’t live as long as we want them too! ❤️
oh I just love this <3 Definitely cherishing the time!
